VFIS, Jim Blankenship Award for Excellence in Fire Training

This award was established to honor achievement and excellence in training within the fire community in Montana. This award will recognize an individual who has excelled at organizing or holding training with the purpose of advancement of fire service personnel. This award is open to both volunteer and career individuals.
This award was inspired by Jim Blankenship who passed away in 2015. Jim served as a Fire Chief early in his career and later worked at the Washington State DNR and the Montana DNRC.
To nominate an individual, please send a letter (no more than 800 words) explaining why the nominee should receive the award, and a list of three or more individuals (with contact information) who confirm the nominee’s contributions. Please email nominations by the deadline to Mikel Robinson
The call for nominations closes on September 18, 2017. The award will be presented at the Montana State Fire Chiefs Convention Banquet in Helena, MT on October 12th.
